Funeral Towers to Arequipa

We arranged for a private transfer between Puno and Arequipa to save time and also do some site seeing along the way. We were not to be disappointed.
We were given a tour of the Sillustani funeral towers and then
taken to a family that lived near there to see how they lived
off the land.

Lagunillas – was a stop at a look out across the lake to see no flamingoes (they are sometimes in the lakes but not today).

A Rock Forest – Imata was an optional stop off and a 30 minute walk which we decided we needed after sitting in the car for an hour and a half. We were rewarded with some great views of some amazing rock formations.
It was then on to Arequipa. We didn’t have long to look around but our initital thoughts are…just another big city. We were a little disappointed though that we weren’t able to see more of the city before heading out the next day on our cycle tour of the Colca Canyon.
