From Taquile to Guinea pig

The next morning it was good-bye to our host family and on to Taquile Island where the weaving and knitting is supposed to be the best in the country. We visited their co-op and watched the men knitting (men knit and women weave).

The view from Taquile was of Bolivia and Copacabana
(not that this photo shows it very well).

The long ride home was the next on the agenda.
Once back in Puno we ran around trying to find an internet cafĂ© that does skype (because we couldn´t connect the netbook to the hotels wifi)…we were successful. I (Heidi) miss everyone dearly so had some tears.

It was then on to Dinner and a taste of Guinea pig!! Had to be done … but just the once was ok…bit boney and fatty.

  1. Hey, some great pictures and stories in here, thanks for the facebook reminder to check the blog.

Glad to see you are having a great time.

It is interesting to see the men doing knitting. Always fascinates me to see how different cultures operate especially on gender boundaries.
